Heinen Delfts Blauw x The Good Roll

On average we spend a lot more time on the toilet than you might think. People spend their time reading the newspaper while sitting on their porcelain throne, play games on their iPads and it is the perfect place for stressed out parents to search a time-out for themselves. Lock the door. Add a Delft blue reed diffuser, light a Majolica scented candle, splash out on some quality handsoap and… add a beautiful looking toilet roll to the decor. Turn your visit to the bathroom into a mini spa experience. 

Why not, was our first thought when we got the oppertunity to design trendy toilet rolls for The Good Roll company. Our bathroom is after all an important space at home or at the office and there is nothing wrong with adding a nice touch to this sacred space. The Good Roll totally understood this concept and creates very trendy toilet rolls that are mini works of art. Besides that we share a love for beautiful looking products, we also like their vision: creating toilet rolls that are better for the environment and of a high quality. 

For our contribution to The Good Roll we had to dive into the history of the toilet roll, after all this is a whole new area of expertise for us. And what do you know: our far ancestors didn’t shy away from using pot shards to scrape their behind clean! Luckily these days the practise of wiping once’s bum is a bit more gentle and comfortable, but it got us thinking. Instead of using Delft blue pot shards to clean that area, the modern day man can use Delft blue toilet paper. Such luxury! And since Delft blue painting is a centuries old craft, we also support a product that allows you to have a good hand wiping movement.  

With this knowledge we went back to the drawing table and the result is one to be proud of. We created six unique Delft blue designs which not only brighten up your bathroom, but which also make your private parts very happy. An ode to this Dutch cultural heritage and to the evolution of wiping.
