2022 is the year in which "Mondriaan 150" is celebrated. An ongoing event commemorating the 150th birthday of this striking Dutch artist. Artists and cultural institutions were given the challenge: develop new productions that are inspired by monderian.
Our contribution is this limited edition element for our stapelgekte vases. "There are not many artists who have reinvented themselves as often as Mondrian. He continued to innovate until the end of his life." We at Heinen Delfts Blauw completely agree with that!
The story of the tulip vase:
Queen Mary from the 17th century is seen as the inventor of the pyramid tulip vases. She liked to decorate her palaces with the stately vases and fresh flowers and the commission for the tulip vases was given to pottery factories in Delft. Since then, the tulip vase has always remained popular. Over the centuries, the shape and decoration have been played with a bit, but in general the pyramid vase has always remained very traditional. Until now. At Heinen Delfts Blauw we have approached these royal vases from a completely new angle and adapted it to today's trendy interiors.
