The result of this meeting is a lively, hand-painted tableware line with a warm and inviting character. Majolica was the predecessor of Delft blue and was introduced to the Netherlands in the 16th century via Italy and Spain. Italian potters collaborated with Delftware artisans, leading to a unique style: loosely painted earthenware with blue decorations on a white tin glaze. This technique forms the artistic foundation of our collection. Each Majolica bowl is hand-painted using free, expressive brushstrokes. No two pieces are exactly alike and it’s those small imperfections that give the tableware its charm and individuality. The wavy rim is a nod to the traditional relief-edged bowls and plates once used in Dutch folk pottery.
