Mug The Heritage Collection - Delft Chintz - Ceramic - 300 ml

A colorful ceramic teacup, decorated with lush Delft blue flowers, a dark blue lace pattern, and oxblood-red stripes inspired by traditional Dutch attire. Sits was the fashion of the 17th century and a highly cherished fabric for regional dress. This strong, beautiful cotton fabric was brought to the Netherlands from Asia by early traders—just like the blue-and-white porcelain that inspired Delftware. In his younger years, Jaap Heinen often painted porcelain vases and wall plates in the fishing harbor. On request, he also painted pieces of traditional clothing with graceful, floral motifs resembling the patterns found on sits fabric.
