Designer Debbie Wijskamp believes that true beauty can be found in the imperfect and the transient. With the Blauw Bloesem tableware collection, she brings this philosophy to life. The collection is characterised by classic, rounded shapes and soft lines that allow the textures and Delft blue decorations to stand out beautifully.
"Traditionally, Delft blue tableware features large decorative motifs. I wanted to isolate smaller details and place them on just one side of the piece," Debbie explains. "The decoration appears to emerge from the rim, giving the tableware a calm and understated look. It also ensures that the decoration remains visible, no matter what is being served. If you present a beautifully arranged dish, for example, the food naturally sits in the centre without covering the decoration."
