Vase Milk Churn The Heritage Collection - Isabee Lace - Ceramic - 30 cm

A colorful milk churn vase with traditional Dutch colors and patterns made of ceramic. The milk churn vase was designed by artist Pepijn van den Nieuwendijk for Heinen Delfts Blauw and is based on the distinctive traditional costumes of the many regions in the Netherlands. What immediately catches the eye is the lace Isabee, the traditional costume hat. Immaculately white, sharply folded, and with an enormous flap that stands straight up like a kind of bright halo. Making and putting on such an Isabee was an art that took hours of precision work. White as porcelain, this beautiful color of pure lace had to be preserved. If the cap was ironed too cold, it would get ugly stains; if it was ironed too hot, the starch would burn. In order to achieve the same beautiful white color for our porcelain, father Jaap and son Jorrit Heinen had to experiment to find the right recipe for their clay and then figure out the exact temperature at which their Delft blue had to be fired. Thanks to years of experience, they know the craft like no other and make everything according to their own recipe.
