Make your own DIY advent calendar

Advent calendars have been incredibly popular since the 19th century. The original advent calendars consisted of boards with small doors that revealed beautiful Christmas images. The advent calendar is a countdown calendar to Christmas. The first compartment is opened on December 1, and each day another little door is opened. In total, there are 24 compartments, with the last one opened on Christmas Eve. There are many fun advent calendars available that you can fill yourself with small gifts, but you can also very easily make an advent calendar on your own. For example, choose a nice wooden crate and fill it with empty toilet paper rolls. Place a small gift in each roll and seal it with colored paper marked with a number. Or choose a large pinboard and hang small numbered bags on it. You can then fill the bags with gifts of your choice. Or keep it very simple: buy 24 small gifts, wrap them in a festive way, and attach a cute Christmas tag with the number on it. Stack them nicely and place them under the Christmas tree.
