Bring Dutch coziness and the relaxed charm of the Mediterranean to your table with this studded bowl from our Majolica collection. Inspired by centuries-old majolica traditions from Southern Europe and the rich heritage of Delft blue ceramics, this collection blends both influences into a lively, hand-painted tableware line with a warm and welcoming feel. Majolica was the forerunner of Delft blue and was introduced to the Netherlands in the 16th century via Italy and Spain. Italian potters worked alongside Delft artisans, leading to a distinctive style: loosely painted earthenware featuring blue motifs on a white tin glaze. This artistic technique forms the foundation of our collection. 

Each Majolica bowl is hand-painted with expressive, flowing brushstrokes. No two pieces are exactly alike and it’s these subtle imperfections that give the collection its charm and unique character. The raised studs, or ‘noppen’, are a nod to the traditional studded plates and bowls once found in Dutch folk pottery. The textured rim gives this bowl its instantly recognizable, handcrafted look. Despite its Southern roots, the tableware still feels distinctly Dutch.
