Bring Dutch coziness and the relaxed charm of the Mediterranean to your table with this dinner plate from our Majolica collection. Inspired by centuries-old majolica traditions from Southern Europe and the rich heritage of Delftware, this collection blends two worlds into one: a breezy, hand-painted tableware line with a warm and inviting character. Majolica was the forerunner of Delft blue and was introduced to the Netherlands in the 16th century via Italy and Spain. Italian potters collaborated with Delftware makers, resulting in a unique style: loosely painted ceramics with blue designs on a white tin glaze. This technique forms the artistic foundation of our collection. Each Majolica dinner plate is hand-painted with expressive, free brushstrokes. No two pieces are exactly the same and it’s those small imperfections that give the tableware its charm and character. Despite its Southern inspiration, this tableware still feels truly Dutch. The familiar Delft blue tones, traditional details like studded rims and wavy edges, and the visible craftsmanship all come together in a dinner plate that feels both timeless and modern.
