2023: the year of Vermeer

The year 2023 centers all around the painter Johannes Vermeer. Several museums are dedicating this year to one of the most famous Dutch artists of all time. Heinen Delfts Blauw dedicates an entire collection to this painter who was once located in our beloved Delft.

Johannes Vermeer is one of the most famous painters of the Golden Age. His most beloved works are Girl with a Pearl Earring, The Milkmaid and View of Delft. His paintings are so popular because they depict daily life in the 1600s. He brought his paintings to life with his talent to paint with light.

Delft in the Golden Age

The scenic city of Delft shows us the world of the Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer. This setting, Delft in the Golden Age, was also the place and time where the art of Delft blue painting was born.
