This stately lady from Spakenburg, a fishers town in The Netherlands, displays her old Dutch national costume. The lady is completely hand painted with a great eye for detail. She is a symbol for traditions in The Netherlands that are still visible today, but which also have the risk of disappearing forever. In this statue two cultural heritages of The Netherlands are united: the tradition of national costumes and the art of Delft blue painting.
