Bread and Butter plate Monkeys

Together with Heinen Delfts Blauw this tv personality launched her own Delft blue tableware collection with the name ‘Sharing Moments – Monkeys & Tulips’. The tableware set combines traditional Delft blue elements with modern details, like exotic flowers and playful monkeys on thin branches. These satirical monkeys might seem very modern but they were a popular theme on Delft blue porcelain, four hundred years ago. . “Monkey business is a synonym for pulling pranks and for imitating human behaviour”, says Janny about her new design. “The playful monkeys on the new tableware set for Heinen Delfts Blauw brings a smile to your face. This theme of monkeys in funny situations has been a popular décor on porcelain for over four hundred years and we love to bring them back to the dining table. In Asia they often decorate porcelain with monkeys as a symbol for wisdom and a long life.” The porcelain bread and butter plate is dishwasher, oven and microwave proof.
