Luckily the covid pandemic is behind us for most part, but still this world wide catastrophe influences the interior design trends of 2023. People their homes are still seen as a safe haven and the trends focus on making it cosy and comforting. The first trend we see can be summed up in one word: hygge. This Scandinavian word stands for a warm and cosy home. Such as soft fabrics, natural materials and lots of candlelight. Home fragrances are also increasing in popularity, to complete the overall sense of comfort.

According to the 2023 trend report of Etsy, we focus more on the sense of community and selfcare than ever before. according to the international sales platform this means that people are looking for local made products and that the cultural heritage is becoming more important. This also includes the old arts and crafts. Delft blue is a world famous Dutch craft that became a cultural heritage. At Heinen Delfts Blauw we do what we can to preserve this century old craft.

Duality and contrast is another interior design of 2023. This means a combination of nostalgia and futuristic vibes. The trend of geometric shapes isn't a new one, but it is becoming increasingly popular and we see it more and more combine with vintage items and decorations.
